Nihonbashi Revitalization Plan

Create

From “Nihonbashi Revival” to “Japan Revival.
From the past to the future, we are working on “value creation” that the times demand from a long-term perspective.

New attractions to be created in the city, such as commercial buildings and development zones

Coredo Nihonbashi

The office and commercial complex development was completed in 2004 in the middle of Nihonbashi, where the two main commercial and financial districts intersect. The exterior, which is composed of a combination of arched glass and stone, is reminiscent of a sailing ship with its sails unfurled to catch the wind.

Coredo Muromachi 1 (Muromachi Higashi Mitsui Building)

Under the concept of “Nihonbashi enlivening Japan,” the complex incorporates modern innovations while respecting the history of Nihonbashi. It consists of a commercial zone with a variety of restaurants and stores, and Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall, one of the largest multi-purpose halls in the Nihonbashi area, which can be used by people of all ages.

Coredo Muromachi 2 (Muromachi Higashi Mitsui Building)

The complex combines dining and entertainment, including traditional old stores with new business formats, a lively zone with restaurants and food shops (B1F) based on the concept of “Freshly Made Today,” and Nihonbashi’s first movie theater “Toho Cinemas Nihonbashi” (13F). Naka-Dori Street, which borders Coredo Muromachi, is lined with long-established stores decorated with noren (traditional Japanese curtains) and andon (Japanese lanterns) motifs, creating a pleasant atmosphere for walking along the street.

Coredo Muromachi 3 (Muromachi Chibagin Mitsui Building)

This complex houses a total of 30 stores, mainly general merchandise stores that propose new styles of “food, clothing, and housing items” by combining “quality Japanese goods” and “beautiful things” with our modern lifestyles, as well as restaurants, food shops, etc. It also features a Japanese-style rental space, the first of its kind in Japan for a commercial facility, and proposes a new “Nihonbashi style.”

Fukutoku Garden

Completed on September 28, 2016. The garden provides people with a place to relax as a space covering more than 1,000㎡ adjoining the Fukutoku Shrine, which was reconstructed in 2014. It also serves as an event space that is open to residents, organizations, and businesses in the surrounding area, and aims to be a hub where people can gather and interact, create new local communities, and communicate with each other.

Nihonbashi Takashimaya Mitsui Building

Construction completed on June 30, 2018. This large-scale complex consists of 32 floors above ground and 5 floors below, with a total floor area of approximately 148,000㎡, including offices and commercial facilities. New Building (specialty stores), Yamamotoyama, and Mikuniya, which opened on September 25, 2018.

Coredo Muromachi Terrace (Nihonbashi Muromachi Mitsui Tower)
